Jaclyn Hill Pallet Review!

Hello all! It's been SO long since I've posted so, let's kick it off with Jaclyn Hill's Pallet by Morphe Cosmetics! I LOVE this pallet!! I've had it and used it for a few months now and I reach for it quite frequently. Are all the colors perfect? No. BUT..the ones that aren't are build-able! Meaning, if you put a couple of layers on of that color, it's perfect! The only colors I had issues with was "Twerk" and a couple of the brown shades (a tad patchy). Does that make me regret the purchase? Not at all!
The pigmentation is great and the shadow is nice and soft! This product retails for $38 but you can get a discount if you use the code JACATTACK at checkout. Link below! Buy it! You won't regret it! XOXO                                                                                                            Comment below and let me know what you think of the pallet if you already own it OR if you purchased by my recommendation!                                                                                                         https://www.morphebrushes.com/products/jh2-jaclyn-hill-ii-palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit "Gleam" Review

Hello Beauties!!!!

This is a review on the Anastasia Beverly Hill Glow Kit in "Gleam"

Sorry there are no swatches in this post! It was VERY difficult to pick it up with my phone camera.

Let's do a "pros" and "cons" list:

PROS:

  • Cute packaging!

  • Replaceable magnetic pans! Run out of one color and not the other? No problem! Just go buy the one color and refill it.

  • BEAUTIFUL pigmentation! I can't complain about any color in the pigmentation department.

  • Beautiful colors!!

  • There is a highlight color for EVERY Season!

For example:

Winter: "Crushed Pearl'" for you pale beauties!

"Mimosa" and "Hard Candy" for Summer

"Starburst" for Autumn when you still have a glow from the Summer but it's starting to fade a bit.

CONS:

  • The kit is $40

Hard Candy: A purple pink-ish undertone. When you turn it, it has an intense purple flex. No worries! It's not noticeable on the skin to where you feel that you have to remove it. Beautiful color!

Mimosa: A bronzed highlight! Gorgeous color!

Starburst: Lighter color with light, LIGHT pink flex.

Crushed Pearl: This one just looks white to me. Very pretty!

I hope you've enjoyed this review!! Stayed tuned for more coming up!

My overall thoughts: GET THIS PALLET! To me, it's worth it because every time I do my make up, I highlight AND there's a color for whatever your skin tone may be.

XO
Krys

Salted Caramel Coffee Recipe!

Hello all!
Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! I went away on vacation and it took me a while to get caught up on everything when we got back.
Sorry today isn't going to be my make up pallet review but I will get it up sometime this weekend!! Here is the recipe:

Yields: 3 cups of creamer

3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt ( I used sea salt, I like the taste of it better)
2 cups half-and-half

To a saucepan over medium-high heat, add the water and the sugar. Stir until the mixture heats up and the sugar dissolves, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Measure 1 cup of the mixture, also known as simple syrup (save any remaining for another use or discard). To the 1 cup of simple syrup whisk in the vanilla and salt. Allow the mixture to cool 5-10 minutes and then add it to the 2 cups of half and half. Stir well.

Keep creamer in sealed container (I use a mason jar) in the refrigerator. Use as you would store-bought creamer. Shake or stir before each use.

**OPTIONAL**

I added some whipped cream on top of my coffee. Along with some caramel and a PINCH of sea salt. The creamer by itself is DELICIOUS! I think the extra steps ruined it in my opinion. Whip it up and comment below if you liked it!! XOXO Enjoy!

August Ipsy Glam Bag #1!

Hello all! (ratings 1-5 stars, 1 being the lowest)

I was VERY happy with my Ipsy Glam bag this month! I re-took the quiz and it was done well this month!

First, we're going to talk about the Luxe Doubler Lip & Eye Pencil. This product is a good product! I wore this plum color today all day and only re-applied once! It doesn't last forever but it doesn't fade super fast either. I applied a clear Ios Egg Chap Stick to my lips first to help the liner glide on easier.
If you're using it for a lip stick, you will have to put some kind of chap stick on first, for it is hard to apply without.
You can also use it for an eyeliner! I haven't used it as an eyeliner yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to put up a review. This pencil is in the color "Wine" and it's SO beautiful! My husband is a little picky with my choice of lip color and even HE liked the shade! So...WIN! :-D

I also liked the fact that it came as a FULL size! It kind of stinks when you really like a product that Ipsy sends you and it's only a mini sample. I was very pleased with this product and I give it:
****
Here is the link to purchase: https://skonecosmetics.com/shop/brows-liners/new-luxe-doubler/
Original price is $15 a piece but it's on sale right now for $12!

Bottom picture is a swatch of the lovely color for you!

Next, I'm going to talk about another lip product that I was sent. This one, of course, came in a mini size which stinks because I really like it! I'm a sucker for a beautiful nude shade though.
I've never heard of this brand (thanks Ipsy!). It's by the brand Noyah and the color is "Desert Rose." Beautiful soft nude color with a tiny hint of pink. I just applied this color a little bit ago and it feels great on the lips! I'm not too sure about the longevity of the shade yet, but I will be sure to let you know after I wear it for a few hours! Even if it doesn't stay, I'd purchase it because of the beautiful color and the way that it feels on the lips. It has a normal lip stick taste, nothing weird or out of the ordinary as far as smell. This is a natural lipstick! They have "their story" on their site and here is where you can purchase "Desert Rose"
https://noyah.com/lipstick/desert-rose-natural-lipstick.html

Also, here is a swatch of the color for you!
This lipstick is priced at $18

Thanks for reading! More reviews on the rest of my Ipsy contents tomorrow!

XOXO,
Krys.

Hard Candy "Guilty Pleasure" Pallet Review!

Hi all! I decided to do a small review on a pallet that I kind of forgot that I owned. This is the Hard Candy "Guilty Pleasure" pallet. Now, I bought this pallet because of the glitter formulation that it had. I like to wear glitter every once in a while so, I picked this guy up for somewhere around $7 at Walmart.

PROS:

  • Pretty colors.
  • Seems to have decent pigmentation for a drug store/department store brand.
  • Cute case!
  • Comes with applicator brush. Not a great one but one that will get the job done.
  • Mirror for easy touch ups.
CONS:

  • Once you swipe that first layer off, the glitter is gone. It is NOT mixed in with the pigment! Just a top layer of glitter and that's it.
  • The color fades and transfers quickly.
Overall, I would not recommend this product. The pigmentation is true to color but doesn't last long nor does it stay where you apply it!
So, if you were thinking about buying this, I wouldn't recommend it.

XOXO,
Krys.

Q & A Answers!!!

First off, I want to say thank you to the ladies who participated in this Q & A! It means a lot to me! We only have 2 questions so, let's get started, shall we?

Q: "What is your "holy grail" of make up products?" -el_inspired.

A: MASCARA! This is my go to, aka "holy grail" product. On days when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere and I didn't give myself enough time to do a full face of make up, mascara is what I grab and throw on before running out the door! I love how mascara widens, brightens and awakens the eyes! Nothing like those lashes going from drab and barely noticeable to fab in a few seconds!
Now, the Cover Girl Lash Bloom mascara got a TERRIBLE rating on one of my blog posts because, frankly, it sucks when used alone! When you pair it with the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes mascara though....oh my. Perfect combo! The Lash Bloom is good for lengthening and separating, while the other is great for volume! So, these two together as a team? -thumbs up-

Q: "What is the best foundation for combination skin that is mainly oily and sensitive? I also have olive toned skin." -Ana De Jesus.

A:"Cover Girl "Ready, Set Gorgeous" foundation! Love, love, LOVE this product! Is is a light coverage foundation but it is oil free, won't clog pores and is specifically for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and I haven't broke out from this product yet! I used to use the Instant Rewind foundation and I used it for 2 years, but then my skin started "rejecting" it. I started breaking out from it and had to switch it up. I do recommend that you switch up your foundation at least once every two years or so, IF you notice this same problem. If not, don't worry about it! It all depends on the demands of your skin. Mine just happens to need a switch-e-roo sometimes! My skin is also combination skin. I get oily in the T-zone and the rest is normal to dry, depending on the weather. I don't have any complaints whatsoever with this foundation! I also got the matching powder and LOVE it when I need to touch up the oily spots.
The foundation, for me, is in Classic Ivory and the powder is in the color "light."

To the right is a list of the colors that I found online for this specific foundation. I personally, don't know how many shade varieties they have since I automatically am drawn to the see through translucent shades. ;-D haha!

Hope this helps! Thank you for asking these questions!! I really enjoyed answering them for you! XOXO

-Krys.
