Let's Get Real

*I will NEVER condone an unhealthy lifestyle

With that being said....let's get real.

I know that what I do as a "Beauty Blogger" has a lot to do with "looks" per-say but I don't do make up to make me feel beautiful, no woman should have to apply make up to feel beautiful. I do it for the art. For the simple beauty and unending art that can be done on the blank canvas that I call my face.

Ladies, if we were to count how many times a day we put ourselves down, what do you think that total would be? If every time when we looked in the mirror, or changed in front of our mirrors, we found SOMETHING to mentally complain about? Be honest with yourself. You don't have to tell me, but be honest.

Like this, for instance:
"My stomach is SO nasty. Why does my husband even find me attractive? I wouldn't." (one of my thoughts on a DAILY basis)
or
"My butt is too big and my legs jiggle. Gosh, I don't have a thigh gap either!"

This list could go on...and on.....and on. I, myself, am guilty of thoughts like this. Sometimes on a daily basis and more than one time a day.
Ladies, this is NOT good for us. Mentally or physically.

If ALL we do is complain about our bodies, we're eventually going to BELIEVE it! Every single nasty, mean thought that we can think of about ourselves, we'll believe. A friend of mine suggested a different way of thinking: Instead of focusing on the negative, focus on the positive!
For me, my stomach is my negative. So, I'm going to focus more on the positives:
  • I have nice arms. From working out, they are getting toned!
  • I love my legs!
  • My husband loves my butt. Whether you like it..let's be honest, it makes us feel pretty good! :-)
  • My back is nice!
  • I have pretty eyes.
  • I have big, pouty lips.
This is how we should think! Focus on what you LIKE instead of what you dislike.
Try this with me, ladies. Let's re-train our minds on how we think about ourselves.

Now, if you have real issues with your body....DO something about it! I was SO tired of sitting around with a "Whoa is me" mentality, complaining about this and that so...I got up off my lazy butt and started doing workout programs and started eating healthier. NO DIETS, just healthier choices. Your body is mold-able! If you give your body what it needs as far as healthy food and you work it hard, it WILL give back! It may take time and LOTS of patience, but it WILL happen.

I believe in taking care of our bodies and doing what we can to make our temple healthy and strong! I believe that constantly putting yourself down is not the right way to handle the situation. It can send you into depression and really take a toll on you.

So, think positive ladies!! Feel free, if you want to comment YOUR positives below and let's help each other!

Here is a quote that I've liked recently "Strong is the new sexy." Now, different women can take this differently but to me, working out and eating healthy is what makes me strong! Find YOUR strong, and work it!

XOXO,
Krys.

Eye-Shadow Look of the Day!

Here I'm going to post my look of the day. Below, there is a reference chart to help you know where everything goes.

First, I applied the colors "Sunrise" and "Sunburst" from the Ulta "Take Me There" pallet as my transition shade.

Next, I applied "Corrupt" by Make-Up Geek to the inner and outer lids.

**Make sure you keep the mid lid clear of the black color**

Then, I took a fluffier brush and drug the "Corrupt" color into the crease and into the inner part of the eye.

Next, I took the color "Naked" in my Ulta "Take Me There" pallet and used my finger to dab it onto the center part of my eyelid. After you have dabbed that in there good, clean off your finger, or use a new one, and apply a bright blue color in the center lid (I used "Poolside" by Make-Up Geek). The "Naked" color or white, gave the blue a nice base and helped it to pop!

After that, I took the color "Mermaid" in my Make-Up Geek pallet and applied that to the outer lash line.

Then, go in with your highlight shade and apply it to the brow bone and inner corner.

Add mascara and you're done!

Here is a chart to help you out with the look I created today.

A- Where I applied "Corrupt" or any black color you have handy.

B- Where I also applied the black shade.

C- Where I put the white base first, then applied the bright blue "Poolside"

D- From D to D and in between where the = signs are, is where I drug the black color up and blended it into my crease.

E- Where I applied "Sunrise" and "Sunburst" (any nude/gold will work).

F- Highlight color

G- This is where I applied the "Mermaid" color from my Make-Up Geek pallet. Any turquoise color will do!

XOXO,
Krys.

Reference Points!

 Hello all!
Today, I'm going to post a reference point chart so you know what I'm talking about when posting eye-shadow make-up tutorials! Hopefully this chart will make application easier to accomplish. Instead of playing a guessing game as to where it all goes :-)

So let's get started!

  • A- The Highlight/Brow Bone color.
  • B- Above Crease or Transition Shade/color (I use different terms at different times)
  • C- Outer Crease or "V"
  • D- Inner Lid
  • E- Mid Lid
  • F- Outer Lid
  • G- Lower Water Line (I rarely put product there because my eyes are sensitive to most eye-shadows and it makes them water) the black line represents where the liner/eye-shadow goes.
  • H- Inner Lower Lash Line
  • I- Outer Lower Lash Line (the other black line is to show separation between the inner and outer lash line) if your looking straight into the mirror, just put that imaginary line in line with your pupil.

To the right is another chart that will help you out. When you are working with your look, no matter what the colors are, you want to go from light to dark (from top to bottom) and light to dark (from outer to inner). This helps to elongate the eye and give it dimension and depth!

Hope these charts help out your application process!
XOXO,
Krys.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Look!

Hello all!
Today, I'm going to explain how I got this smokey eye with the Naked 3 Pallet! Let's get started!

I'm not going to explain everything from the beginning as far as my foundation goes and all that but I'll try my best to explain how I achieved this eye shadow look!

First off, I start with an eye shadow primer. I use the one that came in my Ulta "Take Me There" pallet. It's a great primer and I love it thus far!

Once that is dry, I move on to eye shadow! First, I started with the transition color.

*The transition color is the color you use between your brow bone highlight and crease color. This color is used to help buff out any harsh lines between it and your darker shade.*
Here, I used the color "Limit" for my transition shade. I take an angled eye shadow brush and buff this color back and forth in small circles and windshield wiper motions all over the area ABOVE the crease.

*Try not to get any of this color onto your lower lid, for we need to keep this open for the light lid color.*

Next, I take the crease color. This color goes onto the crease of your eye. If you don't have a crease, create one! I have to create one :-) Just put the crease color in the middle of your eyelid. Buff it back and forth as well to make sure it all blends nicely. For the crease color in this look I used "Nooner."

After the crease color, I move to the outer "V" of the eye. For this, you just want to create a sideways "V" on the outer corner of your eye. Start at the outer part, then lightly buff the leftover color in towards the center. For this step, I used the color "Darkside."

Next, I did the brow bone highlight. This color goes right underneath your eyebrow. I also applied this color to the tear duct area as well (inner corner). For this, I used the color "Strange."

Lastly, I took a small eye shadow brush and I grabbed the color "Nooner" and placed it onto my lower lash line. Just to smoke it out a bit more.

Apply a couple coats of mascara, and you're done!

*Also, I used the Wet n' Wild black eyeliner to complete this look and it was a good eyeliner! Just be sure to wipe off any extra before applying. If you don't, it can get messy! Make sure your eye liner is dry before looking up!*

Enjoy!
XOXO,
Krys.

Product Review!

Here is the make up look that I wore today! It was a very easy, summery look and I enjoyed it!
Below are the main products that I used to achieve this look:

  • Wet n' Wild liquid eyeliner in the color "Indigo Blue"
  • Wet n' Wild in the color "Turquoise"
  • Cover Girl "Full Lash Bloom"
My thoughts on these eyeliners were NOT good. The brush was flimsy and the colors were not pigmented enough (I had to do two coats to achieve desired colors). I also got a black color in this brand and I'm hoping it's a better quality than the colored ones. I did, however, achieve the desired look, but it took a while. So overall, I do not recommend this brand.

The mascara wasn't good either. I saw the brush outside of the packaging and it looked like a promising brush! It was a spiked "jelly" looking brush that looked like it would separate and elongate the lashes well. Well...it didn't. It stunk. I had to grab my go to mascara (Rimmel London Scandal Eyes) to fix the mess that the other stuff caused. This is the SECOND Cover Girl mascara that I have purchased and have been highly disappointed with. I'll use them, only because I'm not a wasteful person but I won't enjoy using them at all!

I'm pretty sure this is my first post where ALL products were dissed! Eh, it happens!

I will keep you updated on my Facebook page as to if I like the black eyeliner and if it's worth your money or not. If it's anything like these two, then no, don't buy it!

Hope this review helped you! Add these items to your "DO NOT BUY" list!

XOXO,
Krys.

Updated Hair Care!

Hello All! Thought I would share an updated hair care routine. Below are the things I use when I straighten my hair. I use the Garnier Fructis as my shampoo. Great shampoo to keep that frizz under control!! And it really does have three day frizz control! Now, I didn't notice it doing anything for my "dry" hair issues..but we'll get to that in a minute! This shampoo does make the hair smooth and manageable though! Smells fantastic as well! I know I recently put up a shampoo post, but my hair apparently gets bored easily with hair care products and eventually, I have to move on to something else! Once I've used products for a good month, I have to switch out for something else. So, I'll swap back and forth between this routine and my "all natural" shampoo and conditioner. I will post the link below so you can visit that if you so desire! :-)
The Redken "Real Control" is what I use for a heat protectant. This was made to be a daily nourishing styling treatment for dense/dry/sensitized hair (which is mine all the way!). I apply this product after I've blow dried and before I straighten. It works WONDERFULLY! Love this product! This IS a leave in treatment so, no need to wash out. It's not heavy on the hair and it does not leave residue at all! It also has a wonderful smell! **Word of advice! Start drying your hair with a cotton tee shirt. It keeps the frizz at bay and it's SO much easier on your hair!**
Pictured to the right is the "it's a 10" Miracle Deep Conditioner plus Keratin. This stuff is WONDERFUL! Mid week, I'll apply ONLY this to my hair and let it set while I finish up my shower. I don't wash with shampoo at all during the week. Sounds gross, I know, but it's SO much better for the hair to give it a long break in between straightening. Once I finish up my shower, I take a wide toothed comb and brush the product through. Once I'm done, I rinse out the treatment right before getting out. I pat my hair dry with my 100% cotton tee shirt and let it dry curly (which is my natural), no heat applied. Just let it air dry. Thank you for reading!! XOXO, Krys.

July Favorites!!!!

Hello all!! I'm posting on my July Favorites today! Hope you enjoy!

**From left to right, top row: Ulta "Take Me There" eye shadow pallet. I love most of the colors in this pallet!! There are only 3 or 4 that I could do without.

Mary Kay Make Up Setting Spray. GREAT stuff! Leaves your skin moisturized and sets the make up in place well!

My Ipsy Make Up Bag- It's really cute and can hold a few essentials. They need to make them bigger! But overall, I like it!

Moroccan Sea Salt Spray from OGX (got it from Walmart)- this is great for curls!! Especially if you want those loose, beach waves!

Biolage Curl Defining Gel- This stuff makes my curls look nice and smooth!! Good buy!

**Bottom from left to right: My Z-Pallet from Make Up Geek! I love how this pallet is magnetic and that you can personalize your own color pallet! The colors I purchased to start off: "Mermaid" "Corrupt" and "Poolside" also, on the bottom right of that pallet, is my eye-shadow that I received from Ipsy! Beautiful metallic tan/gold color!!!

My NYX Eye Shadows! From the top left of the square over: "Stripped", "Frostbite", "Mermaid" and "Liquid Gold". All GREAT, very pigmented colors!

The two lipsticks: Rimmel London "Kate Moss" brand in numbers 17 and 10. Really like both colors!! One is a nude and one is a cool tone red color!

Under that, I have the Rimmel London "Scandal Eyes" mascara!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this mascara!!! I make sure I don't run out of that stuff!

Under the mascara is Rimmel London "Glam Eyes Liquid Liner". It has a nice, precise brush and it applies nicely! The only downside, is that it's metallic. So, I have to apply a matte black eye shadow on top of it.

Last, but not least, is the Becca Cosmetics "Champagne Pop" by Jaclyn Hill. GREAT highlighter!!!! It took me a while to find the perfect brush for it, but once I did it worked beautifully! I use the ELF concealer brush with it.

Picture below: my make up cases that I bought from Walmart! I really like this set up and I have a lot more room for everything now! One container was $9 and the other was $10 I believe. Also, I have my "Party Queen" brushes that I purchased off of Amazon! Great brushes!! Viewed as well is my make up brush holder that I made at a craft shop, here in my town.

Hope you enjoy! Please comment, post and share!

XOXO,
Krys.

Forget Toner!!

FORGET TONER!!! That's right. You don't need to lather your face with chemically laden "Sea Breeze" or other toners to get the desired benefits.
Use an ice cube instead! That's right. Here are the benefits:

  • It refreshes the face.
  • Fights wrinkles.
  • Fights acne and HEALS blemishes.
  • Promotes blood circulation, therefore giving your skin a more youthful, glowing appearance!
  • It also helps to MASSIVELY shrink your pores, therefore keeping bacteria OUT!
  • Smooths skin.
  • Gets rid of spider veins.
If you have acne prone skin, I would suggest this technique morning and night AFTER your cleansing routine(s).
When you do this, rub the ice cube all over your face until the ice cube is completely gone. It can be hard to handle because it eventually makes your face numb but it's worth it!

I try to remember to do this step before applying make-up. It makes your foundation/powder lay nicely on the skin and keeps your pores closed for a better application!

I can definitely tell the difference when I don't use ice! I can see my big pores through my foundation and my face feels dirtier underneath my make-up. Ick! It really helps your highlight set more nicely on your skin when you use it as well.

So, in closing, try this out to see if you like it and if it works for you. If so, CHUCK that toner!!!

XOXO,
Krys.

4 Shades of Blue! Make Up Look!

Let's dive right into the "How To" for this look! Let's start with the face:

As far as brushes go, the ones I use is in a separate blog post (I'll post the link to that post below).

First, I rinse my face off in the morning with warm/hot water ONLY. Now, if you find that the hot/warm water makes those pores TOO big, go ahead and grab an ice cube and shrink those babies back down to proper size before applying your make up! I try to do this prior to make up application whenever I think about it. It shrinks the pores back and keeps the make up from clogging them up. After I rinse my face, I apply my Clearasil spot treatment! Very good stuff and it works well for me :-)

Next, it's time for foundation! I use a flat top
brush to apply my foundation. I just dot the
foundation in random areas on my face, then take the brush and do small circular motions to apply. BE GENTLE around the eye area! Don't ever drag or pull the eye to apply ANY product. If you do use the brush for the under eye area, go gently from the outside in. Your working against gravity that way. :-)

For foundation I use the Cover Girl Ready, Set, Gorgeous! in the color "Classic Ivory." Then to set the foundation, I use the Cover Girl Ready, Set, Gorgeous! powder in the color "light." I use the same flat top brush to lightly dust it over my face.

Next, I apply my blush. I used a rounded make-up brush to apply it. I use Palladio Matte Blush, in the color "Bayberry." I purchased the blush at Sally's Beauty Supply. Here, I would also lightly contour if I wanted but I didn't want to today :-)

Next, I applied the highlighter! Jaclyn Hill's "Champagne Pop", of course! This is a fantastic highlighter and I HIGHLY recommend it for any skin tone! Once all that is done, I moved on to the eyes!

For the eyes, I used the Ulta "Take Me There" pallet for all the colors used.
Before I applied any colors, I used the primer that came in the Ulta pallet...FANTASTIC primer!! My eye-shadow stays on until I take it off and I haven't noticed any creasing or fading of pigment. Now, with certain colors you'll notice SOME fading/creasing (depends on the brand of eye-shadow). When the primer has a second to dry, start the eye-shadow!

With looks like this, I always start off with the transition color. The transition color in this look is the gold color up next to the brow bone, which is the color "Aztec Gold"..BEAUTIFUL color! I applied this color with a small, rounded make-up brush. Take the color from the pallet and work the color on in a windshield wiper motion across the crease of the eye, then slightly drag it up closer to the brow bone (but not all the way).

Next, I worked the grey/blue color into the crease slightly below the gold transition color. Concentrate more on the outer corner of the eye, then work the left over color towards the inner corner of the eye. The grey/blue color is "Sapphire" in the Ulta pallet.

Next, grab a clean brush and blend, blend, blend!! Blending assures there is not harsh lines between the colors.

Next, I took a bright blue color ("Key West") and popped it on with a clean finger to the center part of my lid. LOVE this color!

After that, I applied my liner. Liner is VERY hard to explain! You'll just have to play around with it until you get it. Just remember, it's make-up so if you mess up, you can start again! What I do is line up the bottom lash line with the eyeliner brush, then I flick the liner upwards. Then I start at the inner corner and fill it in. Told you it's hard to explain! I'll post a step by step video/tutorial tomorrow! The eyeliner I use is "Rimmel London Professional Liquid Eyeliner. I LOVE the liquid eyeliner! Some prefer gel or pencil but I like a nice, sharp line and liquid liner will do that for you.

Next, I apply "Green Machine" to the lower lash line. Beautiful color and I love how all these colors blend together! I just took a small sponge brush (the kind you recieve when you purchase eye shadow from the store) and dabbed it onto the lower lash line from the inner, all the way to the outer corner.

Then I took the highlight color, "Sunrise" and applied it right to my brow-bone and on the inner part of the eye.

*I also took my NYX "Stripped" color and applied it on top of my eyeliner. The eyeliner is metallic and I wanted to make it matte so, I applied that color right on top*

After all that, I apply my mascara. I use the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Mascara. Great stuff!! I apply two coats to get the desired fullness and length.

Then I applied some lipstick! In this photo I used the Femme Couture Lipstick in "Nude Kiss." I purchased that at Sally's as well.

After the mascara is TOTALLY dry...and I mean TOTALLY dry, I apply the Mary Kay Make up Finishing Spray to set all the make up and to keep it in place. If you don't wait until the mascara is dry before you spray, the mascara will transfer onto the eyelid and make a mess! If this does happen, all you have to do is take a dry q-tip and twist it on top of the mess and it'll come right off without messing up the look!

Sorry this post was SO long! I will be working on getting good lighting so I can do video tutorials! Hopefully soon!

XOXO
Krys.

Make-Up Geek Z-Pallet and Swatches!

First of all, I need to say that this WHOLE set up is GENIUS!
Top Picture: This is the pallet that I've been wanting for a while now. Why? Because you can customize it to YOUR liking!! This pallet is magnetic and the eye-shadow pans stick right to it. It keeps the eye-shadows from sliding around and becoming damaged.

Bottom left are the three colors I chose to start out with.

The color(s) names from left to right:
Poolside
Mermaid
Corrupt

These colors are beautiful and pigmented! I may have to post a look with these lovelies :-)

The bottom right picture are the swatches. Hopefully this will give you a better idea of what they look like against skin.

Color and description from left to Right:
Corrupt- A nice, dark matte black. Perfect for those smokey eye looks!
Mermaid- Very metallic foiled look! This color is a blue-green mixture.
Poolside- Slightly metallic. The color really does remind you of the color of a pool, just slightly darker.

Lipstick Brands & Swatches!

Hello all!
Sorry this took so long to post! I was out all afternoon/evening.
The top picture on the right was posted so you can know what the lipsticks look like on the shelf, in order to spot them easier! All you have to do is take a screenshot of the lipsticks and take it to the store with you! I purchased number 7 at Sally's Beauty Supply and the others I believe were purchased at Walmart. Number 6 somehow lost the label but I call it "Barbie Pink" when you swatch it on your hand, it
literally looks like the color that was on the Barbie Dolls growing up! It reminds me of a baby pink but it can tend to be bright, especially if your skin is pale.

Okay, here is the list of brands and the names of the colors!

1) L'Oreal Paris- "Peach Fuzz" number 417
2) L'Oreal Paris- "Blazing Lava" number 303
3) Rimmel London Kate Moss Edition- Rosetto 17
4) Rimmel London Kate Moss Edition- Rosetto 10
5) Wet n' Wild- "Sand Storm" number 913C
6) Wet n' Wild- (I call it Barbie Pink) ;-)
7) Femme Couture- "Nude Kiss" number 827322 (Sally's Beauty)
8) Rimmel London- "In Love With Ginger" number 660

Now, here are some "lip tips" to go by. I was the woman who always said "I can't pull off a red lip. My skin just isn't dark enough." Well let me tell you...ANYONE can wear a bright, bold lip. How do you find your shade? Let me tell you!
To the right is a simple chart to screenshot and have on hand the next time you go on a beauty haul.
The trick is to match the undertone of the lipstick, to the undertone of your skin. If you have a cool undertone to your skin, then buy a cool undertone lipstick and if you have a warm undertone, match it with a warm lipstick.
Here is some helpful tips from a website to help you to determine HOW to figure out your undertone a little better than I can:

There are several ways to determine your skin tone, but here are some quick methods to keep in mind:  **NOT MY WORDS**
  • "If you tan easily and do not burn, your skin's natural melanin (the pigment that gives skin its color) level is higher, and you most likely have a yellow-to-olive, warm undertone. This is true for most African-American and women of Indian descent. Some African-American women with deep ebony skin tones may actually have a cool (bluish) undertone, so dark copper shades look off but espresso-type shades match perfectly.
  • Those who burn and either tan minimally or not at all have significantly less melanin, which results in a pink, bluish-red, or ruddy cooler undertone. In addition, look for telltale signs: a ruddy skin tone has obvious signs of redness or is one that tends to flush easily. Some neutral skin tones fall into this category, particularly if rosacea is a factor, so experiment with cool to neutral tones to see what works best for you.
  • Olive skin tones tend to look somewhat ashen or gray, from the combination of the natural yellow undertone everyone has and the greenish hue that’s unique to olive skin of any depth. Neutral tones tend to work best, but experiment with warm tones as well, as you may fall somewhere in between.
  • Neutral skin tones are those with no obvious overtones of olive, sallow, or pink. People with this skin tone tend to have the easiest time finding foundation, concealer, and powders that are just right for them. In fact, those with neutral skin tones may find they can easily wear more than one shade in any given foundation lineup.
  • The shortcut test: Some people like to rely on the color of their veins: Look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. If your veins appear blue/purple you are in the cool-toned (bluish) spectrum. If your veins appear green, you are in the warm-toned (yellow) spectrum. Those with neutral undertones will have difficulty discerning the blue/green."
*Keep in mind that the undertone of your skin changes with the seasons. It all depends on if you are sporting a tan or not.*

Hope the chart and these tips help you pick out your PERFECT shade of red! Have fun with it, and don't be afraid to experiment. You'll know when you pick the right shade for you!

**Tomorrow's post will be more eye shadow swatches! So keep an eye out for my Facebook post!!**

Skin Care Routine!

*All products mentioned have been posted previously (except for one)*

Ok! Here is my daily skin care routine that works for me: Products:

Soap and Salve Whipped Squaline Face and Eye Mousse

Soap and Salve Whipped Body Butter

Soap and Salve Mocha Java Body Scrub

I was applying the moisturizer prior to applying my make up every day but that wasn't working well for me. The moisturizer tends to make you greasy so, when I applied my make up AFTER the moisturizer, the make up would slowly melt off of my face. Not good.
So, I starting applying it at night AFTER the removal of ALL make up and it worked perfectly!
I have to say, I have VERY sensitive skin and this product has never broke me out and I've been using it for a month in a half to two months. Wonderful product!
Now, in the morning I rinse my face with warm/hot water ONLY. Sometimes I'll take a wet wash cloth and steam it off of my face but most of the time, I just rinse (since I want the moisturizer to remain a bit when my make up is applied).

After I pat my face gently with a towel, I apply my Clearasil Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Cream all over my face. I usually dab smaller than a pea sized amount on my forehead, cheeks and chin, and then just rub it in. Works wonderfully on acne!

The main thing that works the BEST with acne is water, water, water! Drink a lot during the day, as well as clean up any access sugary foods/drinks from your diet and voila!! Clear skin.

Now, we move to the shower. In the shower I will use the Body Scrub on my stomach (problem area from having 2 kids by c-section) and on my legs after shaving. Oh my goodness...it leaves your skin feeling SO SOFT!!! After I get out of the shower, I head to my room and apply the body butter on my stomach as well. It's fantastic for stretch marks, ladies!!

In closing, I highly recommend the products listed above for skin care. Fantastic, all natural products that leave your skin glowing and soft.

Here is the link to my in depth post about all the products: XOXO

Becca Cosmetics "Champaign Pop" Review!

Here is is!! The Becca Cosmetics "Champagne Pop" made by the lovely Jaclyn Hill! I REALLY like this highlight! I mean, let's take a moment and look at the before (left) and after (right) picture to the right...
This product makes you looks like you've just been kissed by the sun!!
This product really will, I believe, look good on all skin tones! That is a PLUS! I've heard nothing but good things about this product and it is as good as people say it is thus far.

To the right here is the swatch. Look how beautiful this color is!! SO pretty!! It reminds me of the sand in an oil painting. Luminous, bright and beautiful!
Don't go heavy handed (like I did the first time) because it can make you look muddy/oily. I need to find the right brush for application! I used the wrong one, and it applied it TOO heavily! Practice makes perfect, right?

Here is the packaging! Very attractive and cute. There are little raised Champagne bubbles on the outside of the box. I thought that was cute :-)

Below is the link to order!

http://www.sephora.com/becca-x-jaclyn-hill-shimmering-skin-perfector-pressed-P398805?skuId=1721240

Beautiful highlight. It is pricey and I like it thus far :-) As I experiment and play with it more, I'll know if it was worth it. As of right now, I'm liking it!!!

Ulta Take Me There Pallet Review and Swatches!

Here is what the Ulta Eye Shadow Pallet looks like! Some of these colors I liked, and some I didn't. I will swatch ALL of these colors for you so, this may be a long post! As I go through, I will let you know if I liked them or not. You can determine if they're right for you, hopefully by the swatches I provide! (The color in the very center of the pallet is a primer!)
(Sorry for the glare, it's a rainy day here in the Mountain State)
Let's begin!

To the right from top to bottom:

Majesty- beautiful, pigmented purple! *thumbs up*

Sunrise- A pigmented, shimmery nude *thumbs up*

Naked- A whitish nude, a little too light for me. Couldn't see it well. *could do without*

Left to Right:

Glitter Top Coat Deep End- Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL, metallic deep grayish blue color!! This color will compliment SO many different eye colors! Especially blues! I'm very excited to use this color! *thumbs way, way up!*

Aztec Gold- Can we take a moment....just LOOK at how pigmented and metallic this color is! I'm thinking of a look with this color and my Mermaid NYX color for a perfect, beachy glow for the summer time! *thumbs way, way up!*

Green Machine- Yes, another BEAUTIFUL color in this pallet! I love all these metallics! This color in the inner corner with a smoked out black would be a great evening out look!

Hopeless Romantic- This is a beautiful Rose Gold metallic color! This color would be perfect with a bold liner and a nude/light brown eye shadow look!

Left to Right:

Mimosa- This color was ok but required a lot of coats. And sometimes, you just don't want to do that with eye shadow. It's a metallic orange with flexes of glitter in it. A pretty color but like I said, requires a couple of applications. *could go without*

Khaki- This color sucked. It was a very translucent color and it took multiple coats with my finger to get it to show up on camera. *could go without*

Brownie- This color was ok but was streaky. You can tell that if you look closely at the bottom of the brown color that it started streaking..not cool. *could go without*

Eggplant- Not impressed with this one either. Again, it required multiple applications to get the desired color. These colors MAY be different if applied on top of an eye shadow primer! I have yet to try that. *could go without*

Left to Right:

Sunburst- Yes, YES, YES! A beautiful metallic gold that would again, go great with a blue color to create that beach babe look! *thumbs way, way up*

Glittering Sands- I LOVE this color! Very subtle, but very pretty! Great for a center of the lid pop of brightness. *thumbs way, way up!*

Key West- Ok...wow. Metallic AND blue!!!??? Win, win! Beautiful color, beautiful pigment! *thumbs way, way, WAY up!*

Sapphire- This color is a mix of matte and metallic. Very interesting color, but very pretty! I can't wait to try this out with a look! *thumbs way up!*

This concludes all the swatches!

*Most of the metallic colors will go on better when applied with your finger on a primed eye lid. Metallics, when applied properly, can be very pretty! You can try application with a brush, but I'm pretty sure you'll get the best results when using your finger :-)*

Here is a link to the pallet: right now, this pallet is on sale for $9! Get it quick if you're interested! XOXO

NYX Eye Shadow Swatches!!!

It finally came!!! My individual NYX eye-shadows!! Let's review, shall we?! :-)

All products that I purchased are posted on the right. From left to right:

Stripped (matte black)

Frostbite (white/purple shimmer)

Mermaid (a GORGEOUS blue/green/aqua color)

Liquid Gold or Liquide (a beautiful metallic gold color)

Here are the swatches from left to right:

Stripped

Frostbite

Mermaid

Liquid Gold or Liquide

As you can see, the last three colors are very metallic! I love them all! The last color (Liquid Gold) came busted but it's still use-able, but kind of messy.
They're all well pigmented and true to color! I have yet to put them into a look, but when I do, you'll be the first to see!
So far, I am very happy with these purchases! NYX is a great brand for a very affordable price. Worth the money! Links to the product will be listed below!

I am BEYOND excited to review the "Campaign Pop" by Jaclyn from Becca Cosmetics!!!! To the right is a picture of Jaclyn Hill (YouTube Make up artist and creator of the product) wearing the highlighter. Look how DEWEY and beautiful she looks!!!
